Common questions about commercial disinfection
Quick answers to the questions buyers ask before scheduling a walkthrough. For anything not covered here, call (860) 373-2525 or request a quote.
What is the difference between cleaning and disinfection?
Cleaning removes visible dirt and soil. Disinfection uses EPA-registered chemical agents at proper dwell times to reduce pathogen load on surfaces beyond what cleaning alone can do. Most facilities need both: routine cleaning daily, plus targeted disinfection on high-touch surfaces and as post-incident response.
Do you handle post-illness disinfection?
Yes. After a confirmed illness, suspected exposure, or biohazard event, we deploy electrostatic spray application with EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants. Documentation provided for compliance files.
What disinfectants do you use?
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants, selected per facility based on pathogens of concern. We follow manufacturer dwell-time specifications. SDS sheets provided on request.
Do you offer electrostatic spray application?
Yes. Electrostatic spraying is part of our standard disinfection scope for large areas, irregular surfaces, and post-incident response. Faster and more thorough than manual application for the right scenarios.
Commercial Disinfection Services
There is a difference between cleaning and disinfection, cleaning removes visible dirt, disinfection kills pathogens. For commercial buildings, especially those with public traffic, medical practices, schools, and food service, disinfection needs to happen on a documented schedule with EPA-registered hospital-grade products, not generic surface cleaners. Fraser Commercial Services provides commercial disinfection across Connecticut and Rhode Island as a standalone service or as part of an ongoing cleaning program.
What our disinfection service includes
Touch-point disinfection on a documented protocol: door handles, light switches, elevator buttons, handrails, shared keyboards and phones, restroom touch points, conference room surfaces. Two-step process where appropriate: clean to remove organic material, then apply EPA-registered disinfectant with the appropriate contact time before wiping or air-drying.
Color-coded microfiber to prevent cross-contamination between zones. EPA List N disinfectants for areas with elevated infection-control requirements. Documented logs for accounts that need them for compliance or insurance purposes.
When commercial disinfection is the right call
Routine high-traffic touch-point disinfection should be part of every commercial cleaning program. Standalone deep disinfection events are appropriate after exposure incidents (confirmed COVID, flu outbreaks, norovirus), before reopening after extended closure, or for compliance-driven schedules in medical, dental, and food service.
Schools, daycares, and youth-facing facilities have year-round elevated disinfection requirements, particularly during respiratory virus season.
Disinfection product safety and selection
We use only EPA-registered disinfectants, the EPA “List N” of disinfectants approved for use against SARS-CoV-2 is the working reference list most commercial cleaning programs adopted post-2020. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for every product we use on your account are available on request, immediately. Products are selected based on building type, occupancy patterns, and any specific compliance requirements.
